Local beauty brand wins Green Parent award

Staffordshire-based natural soap and beauty company Walk Mill Botanics has won a gold ‘natural beauty’ award from respected parenting magazine The Green Parent.

The company’s handmade, SLS and paraben free blackcurrant, honey and ginger soap has scooped the ‘Gold’ award in the bath and beauty category of the magazine’s annual Natural Beauty Awards. The product is set to feature in The Green Parent’s forthcoming edition and accompanying 2016 beauty bible, to be published on 15th July.

The news continues a great run of success for the company, which is based in Walk Mill near the Shropshire/Staffordshire border and sells its products through this website as well as through a range of stockists nationwide.

Vicki Evans, Walk Mill Botanics founder, explains: “I’m so thrilled to have won this natural beauty award from Green Parent magazine. I am extremely passionate about natural, cruelty-free ingredients that are suitable even for the most sensitive of skin – whether that is for mum, baby, messy toddlers or a close shave for dad.”

She adds: “Our customers tell me that they love the fact that our Walk Mill Botanics soap products have a beautiful aromatherapy scent due to the carefully selected ingredients, but are also extremely gentle on sensitive or problem skin, thanks to the range of plant oils and ingredients that are free from SLS and parabens.”

The Walk Mill Botanics range of soaps, beauty balms, room sprays and himalyan bath salts are designed to encourage a sense of wellbeing and relaxation by creating a moment of calm in people’s busy lives.

Many of the products contain reflective and relaxation techniques within the packaging, and botanical ingredients are combined to create the perfect individual mood such as the award winning ‘Reflect’ blackcurrant and honey soap ‘Unwind’ rose and geranium, ‘Refresh’ lime and cedarwood, ‘Soothe’ marigold petal and ‘Calm’ lavender and chamomile. The range also includes ‘stimulate’ rosemary and peppermint bath salts and room sprays for those tired or exhausted moments.

To top off the company’s green credentials, all the soaps are carefully wrapped in biodegradable packaging made from recycled material embedded with flower seeds – so it can be soaked, planted and watered in order to grow beautiful flowers.

National stockists include Chelsea Physic Gardens and a number of garden centres throughout the country, with all products also sold online through this website.

The company’s latest award win continues a great run of high profile successes for Walk Mill Botanics since it was launched three years ago. Vicki has seen her products featured in The Independent, The Guardian, Country Living, Staffordshire Life, Green Parent, Prima Baby, Landscape, Liverpool Echo and local newspapers in Staffordshire and Shropshire.
